Today, Aliocha was taking the train to go to his dad's house. Since he's too young to take the train alone, he is accompanied with a group of other kids by the train company staff. This is a conversation we had with a lady at the "boarding point".
Lady : Ok. So, who's going to pick him up at the train station on his arrival ?
Me : His dad will be there. You've got all the information needed on the form. (i.e. : name, phone number, ID Card number).
Lady to Aliocha, talking to him like he was a 4 years old : And do you know the name of your Daddy ?
Aliocha : ????!!!!!!
Me : uuuuh.. He's eleven, you know.
Lady : Oh yeah, but we have to make sure he knows his dad's name, you know, just in case. We wouldn't want him to leave with a stranger.
Me : uuuh...Sure, I understand that.
Aliocha, a few minutes later : Whatever ! Did she think I was stupid or what ?
Me : I guess she was just overzealous :-)
Me, saying goodbye to him a few mn later : Have fun with your dad, honey. We'll see each other next week. Oh ! And don't forget your Dad's name !
Aliocha : HAHAHA ! Yeah, OK !
