An update on Mongolia
It’s been a while since my last update about Capucine’s Library. Things are going a little slower than Jonathan hoped, but as the adage says : “Chi va piano, va sano”. Jonathan is still working with the school director and hopefully the library in Bugat will be ready to open in september, when school starts again after the holidays.
Meanwhile, Jonathan has contacted a second school in Baruunburen, a small town of about 2400 people, and that school is also in great need of books for the kids. The school is for children of herder families and orphan children, who for some reason or another are not able to attend normal school. There are 4 teachers, 154 children and no children’s books. At the end of July, 7 french students are coming to Mongolia to help Jonathan start preparing the library with new paint, furniture repair, etc… In September they’ll bring the new books and have an opening ceremony. :-)
Jonathan will be able to send pictures and videos soon, so you will see what’s being done there. This is so exciting !
When I started this project, I didn’t think we would be able to get enough money for a library, and in the end, not one but two libraries will open. This makes me incredibly happy. I also can’t wait to see Capucine’s reaction to the opening ceremonies. I think she will be very, very happy too. :)
