My coworkers have never heard of The Giving Tree (or even Shel Silverstein). I couldn’t believe it! It was such a staple in my childhood.
This makes me question if they even have a heart.
Lee hadn’t read this book since he was a child, so I retold the story to him recently. I read that book all of the time since I was an Elementary Ed major and a camp counselor. Such a classic.
Funny, because I found this book translated in French today and bought it for Capucine. She said she liked the story, but that it was “a little sad because the pages are in black and white”. :)
