In 2001, Claire Nouvian, author and scientific wildlife film-maker, discovered at California’s Monterey Bay Aquarium, exceptional images of the deep-sea world. It was love at first sight, she dived into this unknown and fascinating universe and decided very quickly to spread knowledge of it to as many people as possible.
In 2006, she published The Deep (Fayard), which has been released in six languages, and reprinted four times. This book, now a reference, brings the numerous phenomenon governing life in the deep to the attention of the wider public.
Through the course of her work as an author, Claire Nouvian had fully devised the exhibition INTO THE DEEP. Thanks to the close collaboration of researchers from all over the world, she has managed to collate photographs and specimens which have never been displayed before.
