Huge pet peeve
It makes me cringe when people say “wala!” or “wallah” or something instead of “voila.” Are they JOKING? Or do they really not know the actual word?
“I just put it in the microwave, zap it for two minutes and wallah.”
i just think native english speakers have a problem with french pronounciations in general. or are they just not really trying?

Hahahha ! This reminds me of a movie I saw when I was in the US, where the mother made what was supposed to be a french meal, with french fries and a bottle of Perrier that she was proudly presenting to her guests saying “And this is…PerOOOoo !!” (I can’t remember which movie it was but I’m sure some of you will. ) edit : found it : it was in “Better off dead”
