Important announcement
Dear Tumblr friends, and all of you Capucine fans out there,
First of all, thank you all for the amazing and incredible feedback I have been getting during the last two weeks about Capucine. I’ve had messages coming from everywhere around the world, and all of them touched me deeply. You are all wonderful. Thank you also to you, the early Capucine fans, who have followed her adventures on Vimeo for the last 2 years. You are part of my life now ! :)
I have a very important announcement to make today. :)
With the help of wonderful persons, I’ve decided to put Capucine’s popularity to a good purpose, and we will need you to join us on this.
A few days ago, I got a comment on Vimeo from Jonathan, who gave me a link to his website. Jonathan has founded Edurelief, after a trip to Mongolia, where he learned that the government had cut fundings for schools, thus leading thousands of children to drop out of school because their parents didn’t have enough money to buy them books.
Since the start of Edurelief in 2005, he has raised money, bought text books, and given the possibility to hundreds of children to go back to school. You can see some videos about Edurelief and what Jonathan has done on Vimeo too.
When I read about Jonathan story, I immediately thought I had do something.
With the help from the wonderful Zahira, who has worked on some drawings Capucine has made, and the amazing talent of Patrick Moberg, who his willing to join us in this project, we are willing to raise money for Edurelief through some really cool merchandise that will be inspired by Capucine.
It is still in the making, so I can’t be too specific about it, and we have to work out with our different timetables, but hopefully, we’ll be able to come up with something in time for your Christmas shopping. All the proceeds will go to Jonathan’s foundation.
Capucine is blessed to be able to go to school, to learn, to read, and to grow up in a privileged environment. If the incredible attention she has received lately can help other kids less fortunate than her to have a better future, then I will be the happiest mother on earth.
Stay tuned for more information about this project. We’ll need you to help spread the word to everyone you know.
Love,
Anne
